Job 33

Elihu says that God speaks and chastise men so they will repent of sin and praise Him.

  • Elihu assesses Job’s words and finds him faulty (vv. 8–12).
  • In verses 13–22 Elihu says that God speaks to and chastens men to turn them from sin.
  • In verses 23–28 Elihu says that when men are brought to their senses they will repent and praise God.
  • As you read verses 29–33, is Elihu right? Does God discipline men to save them? Is he right in his application of this to Job?
