Assyria takes the N. Kingdom captive and settles foreigners in their place. The reasons for the N. Kingdom’s captivity are given. The settled foreigners combined idolatry with worship of the Lord.

  • Who did Israel “listen” to? Who did they “follow”? How did that affect what they were like? (cf. v. 15)
