1 Kings 22

Ahab wars against Aram with Jehoshaphat’s help, but defeat is prophesied. Ahab is killed in battle. Ahab’s son Ahaziah succeeds him.

  • Contrast the difference between Micaiah and the other prophets.
  • As you think about verses 19–23, keep in mind passages such as Exodus 9:16; Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Psalm 76:10; Romans 9:17; Hebrews 6:18; James 1:31.
  • Note verse 39—Ahab may have been a great king from the world’s perspective, but God’s account does not draw attention to that. Why?
