Ahab connives to obtain Naboth’s vineyard by having him murdered; Elijah reproves him and announces God’s judgment upon Ahab and Jezebel.
- Note Jezebel’s evil plot in verse 13—this was a malicious use of the Mosaic Law (Deut 19:15–19)
- Think about Elijah’s assessment of Ahab in verse 20—“you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord.” Think about what is involved with that.
- What motivated Ahab’s evil (v. 25)? What application should you make from this?
