We believe that God creates human beings in his image, immutably forming each person at conception as a heterosexual male or female (Gen 1:26-27; 2:7-25). From conception to death, every stage and condition of human life is sacred (Gen 9:6; Lev 19:32; Ps 139:13-16). Consequently abortion, eugenics, suicide, and euthanasia are unbiblical.
God established marriage as a lifelong, monogamous, covenant relationship publicly entered by one man and one woman for the benefit and continuation of mankind (Gen 2:24; Mal 2:14; Matt 19:4-6). Cohabitation and common-law marriages are thus unbiblical. Christian marriage must reflect the union of Christ and the church (Eph 5:22–33). Thus, Christians should marry only Christians (1 Cor 7:39; 9:5; 2 Cor 6:14), and during their courtship the couple must be blameless and above reproach in their behavior (Eph 5:3; 1 Thess 4:1-8).
God restricts sexual intimacy to marriage, forbidding all sexual actions and attractions which deviate from this biblical standard (Romans 1:26-32; 1 Cor. 6:18; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4). Such include adultery (Exod 20:14), sexual promiscuity (Rom 13:13), immorality (1 Thess 4:3), homosexuality (Lev 18:22; Rom 1:26-27; 1 Tim 1:10), transgenderism (Gen 1:27; Deut 22:5; Mark 10:6), incest (Lev 20:11-21; 1 Cor 5:1), pornography (Matt 5:28), and prostitution (Prov 5:1-23; 1 Cor 6:15-20).
God created the family as the foundational institution of human society (Gen 2:24; 4:1-2). Biblical families consist of those related by marriage, blood, or adoption (Est 2:7, 15; Eph 5:22-6:4). Each family member has God-given roles and responsibilities. A husband is the head of his wife (1 Cor 11:3; Eph 5:23), must love her as Christ loved the church (Eph 5:25-33), and must lead, protect, teach, and provide for his family (Eph 6:4; 1 Tim 3:4; 5:8). A wife is her husband’s helper (Gen 2:18; 1 Cor 11:8-9), must submit to him as the church submits to Christ (Eph 5:22-24), and must respect him, manage the home, and love their children (Eph 5:33; Prov 31:10-31; Titus 2:4). Parents must teach and model Christian truth, character, and rear their children with loving discipline (Deut 4:9; 6:7; Prov 13:24; Eph 6:4). Children must honor and obey their parents (Eph 6:1-3; Col 3:20), respect their elders (1 Tim 5:1), be controlled by the Spirit and not their sin natures (Prov 3:5-8; Titus 2:6), and strive for Christ-like maturity (Prov 2:1-9; Luke 2:52).
