Job 16

After chiding his friends Job shares what he feels God has done to him, but he still looks to God.

  • What is Job saying in verses 3–5?
  • Job says in verses 6–14 that God has mercilessly shattered and hunted him, but what does Job think of himself (v. 17)?
  • In verse 15 “horn” refers either to Job’s strength or his forehead/face. Job is expressing how downcast he is.
  • To whom does Job look to (vv. 18–22)? What application can you make for when you suffer? Job does not indulge fleshly desires but does what? What is his outlook on life? Despite Job’s assessment of God, Job has not abandoned God.
